I would like to remind you the superlative wisdom: “As many languages you are proficient in so far you are a man.” What is the meaning of these words?

These can be interpreted as the cause of fear, disrespect for something, the fear of the unknown and uncertainty.

Once I have read about the beginnings of welcoming ritual. It is of interest that giving to the stranger your right hand and taking his right hand to yours appeared as a security measure – as way to make the stranger unable to use violence. That is the initial and the most primitive way to secure you from other people’s unfriendly act.

Nevertheless developing the humankind has come to getting knowledge of each other’s culture, customs, morals and manners. That is probably the unique way which is given to us by nature for learning languages of other nations. Therefore those who do not study do not think much of other languages they must have been in an unvaried hostility towards other nations, as they are not aware and therefore fear it as it is fraught with danger according to them.

I would like to note that it is a seamless trait of all imperial people, who deem it unnecessary to know the language of dependent people, as the latter is obliged to speak the conqueror’s language. Not only the language, but its philosophy, way of thinking (regarding other social and political groups as well). So it comes that imperial people have an additional trait which contribute to expansion of zenophobia. It is a distressing fact that skinheads and other “we and others” are the fruits of imperial policy and forged imperial psychology.

We leave in a multifunctional and multiconfessional country. We are condemned to leave together, and if it is so than leaving on friendly terms is best way. As a variant we can leave as others leave in shared apartment, splitting in to neighbor’s bowl or occupying the bathroom for hours. But that’s not leading merry life at all. Our life is too short to play ducks and drakes with it. It’s given us only for once for joy and happiness.

Knowing your native language it is joining your native culture, loving the way of thinking, customs of clansman of yours. And knowing your native language you’ll seek learning language of nearby people, you will be even more high-spiritual than any monolingual scientist or author. To speak several languages – it is truly a grace!

We, Tatars, have greatly succeeded in it, as we speak at least two languages and consequently are joining two cultures. Same origin of Turkic languages enables us to perceive related cultures. We should not be afraid of other culture, should not take after others, who disregard different peoples’ culture and language. For religious Muslims information - Mohammed the Prophet welcomed knowing people and appealed to acquire knowledge and perceive culture.
